Blog from National Clinical Director, Dr Jo Black

Dr Jo Black’s new blog post in her role as NHS England’s Associate National Clinical Directors for Perinatal Mental Health, focuses on the everyday successes in the field.  This includes the 20 areas which received NHSE money recently, as well as the local volunteers, researchers, family members etc that support women and families every day who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

Dr Black has messages for those areas that were successful as they start to develop their teams, with a request to ensure work is shared widely; for those who were unsuccessful and for those areas that didn’t submit a proposal this time round.

She reminds us all that now is a good time to lead the work happening in perinatal mental health and to grasp the opportunities available with the new money and new challenges.
